(Mirror Daily, United States) – It might happen that bald men should feel uncomfortable with their condition, as they are insecure about hair loss and other such appearance-related problems. However, a recent study suggests they shouldn’t feel worried about it. Results showed how people find these men the most attractive, explaining why some people who had adopted this style are full of confidence and charm.
Bald men have been rated as most attractive
Many bald men have not chosen to have a hairless head, and this is why some of them might experience trust issues. However, there are many others who chose to shave their heads without being forced to do it by their disobeying locks. Bald heads are now among the latest trends, and many people find them among the most attractive physical traits in a man.
Researchers from the University of Pennsylvania noticed how more men had chosen to go bald, so they decided to see what determined them to do it. Therefore, they had both men and women look at photos of men, and rate them depending on how attractive, confident, and dominant they looked. Surprise or not, bald men ranked first in all three categories.
A bald head is associated with dominance
Those who got the highest rating were naturally bald men. However, even those whose hair was removed digitally had higher scores than those with thicker hair, or whose hair was clearly falling off. As an explanation, researchers said baldness was unconsciously related to dominance.
“Choosing to dispense with one’s hair is arguably a form of nonverbal behavior, a form of expression which communicates information about the self otherwise difficult to observe.”
This is great news, since looking more dominant can also be of great help for men in business and economic environments. However, a splendid bald head comes at a cost, making men look four years older. Therefore, in case you are looking for a style change to make you look sexier and more imposing, shaving your head is the key.
