Fourth Porn Star Dead Since November

January 11, 2018 By John Birks

Late porn star Olivia Nova(Mirror Daily, United States) – In a mysterious string of deaths affecting the porn industry, porn star Olivia Nova, 20, is the latest adult film actress to abruptly die at a fairly young age.

Her body was found in her Las Vegas apartment Sunday, and her family is trying to take her back home to Minnesota.

Investigators couldn’t tell the exact cause of death. On Christmas, she told her 20,000+ Twitter fans that she felt lonely as there was nobody by her side during the holidays.

Her former agency, LA Direct Models, commented on her death Monday. The agency described her as a “very sweet” person with a “gentle personality.” Her colleagues said they were beyond shocked. “Rest in peace, sweet angel,” the statement reads.

Nova started her career as an adult film actress in March 2017. She had over 20,000 Twitter followers, of whom many expressed their sadness over the abrupt death.

Three Other Porn Stars Dead Since November

Nova is the latest young porn star in a string of deaths affecting the adult industry. In December, porn actress August Ames, 23, killed herself after a huge backlash over her comments on male porn actors who accept gay roles.

After saying that she would not agree to film a movie with a man who had done gay porn, she was blasted as homophobic. Her family said she struggled with mental health issues. At one point, the late actress admitted to being molested as a child.

Porn star Turi Luv, 31, was killed by a drug overdose in December. On social media she had told fans that she would have liked to die “late, in love, and a little drunk.”

In November, porn star legend Shyla Stylez was found unresponsive in the morning. Doctors said she died in her sleep but wouldn’t say the cause of death. She had retired from the adult business in 2016.

Record Christmas Storm Buries Major PA City in Snow

December 27, 2017 By John Birks

U.S. Army officer shoveling snow(Mirror Daily, United States) – A storm that started on Christmas Eve buried Erie, Pa., in at least 58 inches of snow, breaking all existing state and local records. Erie, which is the Oil State’s fourth largest city, has seen snow falling at a pace of three inches per hour.

Experts said the bulk o the snow fell over just 30 hours since Christmas until Tuesday’s early hours.

The city has declared a state of emergency. Drivers are urged to keep away from highways and streets until the snowfall stops. Interstates 79 and 90 have been shut down.

Gov. Tom Wolf had to call the National Guard since there were initial concerns that ambulances could not reach patients on such snowy streets. He explained that the city’s ambulances are not high enough to go through the snow.

The National Weather Service confirmed that a 34-inch layer of snow Is the proof the latest storm has broken its previous 24-hour record for snowfall. After a few more hours and 24 more inches of snow, the NWS announced that Erie had shattered the state’s two-day record, which was set in 1958 in Morgantown.

More Snow Expected by Wednesday

An extra foot of snow could land in the city by Wednesday, weather experts warned.

This December, Erie had seen nearly 100 inches of snowfall, marking the month with the heaviest snowfall in its history. Erie usually gathers 100 inches during a whole season.

Experts explained that heavy snow is not something new in Erie since the city lies along Lake Erie. The storms are caused by the so-called lake effect, which means that the interaction between the wintery cold air and the lake’s warmth results in extra moisture which can morph into excess snow.

In some areas of Erie, residents saw snow growing by one inch every 15 minutes, which is very strange even by the city’s standards.

White House Petition Website to Be Suspended until Late January

December 19, 2017 By John Birks

White House petition website(Mirror Daily, United States) – The White House announced that ‘We the People’ website will be suspended temporarily until a new site is set up. The maintenance work for the new website will last until late January.

The tremendously popular website was launched by the Obama administration six years ago. The former administration promised to offer an official answer to all petitions that exceed the 100,000-signature threshold. The current administration, on the other hand, hasn’t replied to any of those petitions since President Trump was inaugurated.

The Trump White House said that the revamped website would save around $1 million in tax dollars per year. White House’s total budget for next year currently stands at $55 million, with $4.94 million being deployed to its official websites.

One source within the White House told reporters that the White House will start answering petitions in 2018. All ongoing petitions will be reinstated, the official added.

The Obama administration’s initial plan was to offer all Americans a voice when it comes to the wide range of topics affecting the United States. If a petition is signed by more than 100,000 people within a month, that petition would lead to an official response from the federal government.

Some of the most popular petitions that require an official response include a request for the President’s resignation and a request for his tax returns to be made public. None of those petitions received an official answer.

Other petitions were focused on minority groups like the LGBT community. Following a 2015 petition that requested a ban on conversion therapy, president Barack Obama official called for a ban of the procedure.

Tillerson Willing to Push for N.Korea Diplomatic Talks ‘Until First Bomb Drops’

December 13, 2017 By John Birks

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson(Mirror Daily, United States) – Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told several world leaders Tuesday that he plans to continue to negotiate with North Korea “until the first bomb drops”.

Tillerson made the remarks during the Atlantic Council Korea Foundation Forum. He added that while he is ready to push for all diplomatic solutions, Defense Secretary James Mattis is getting ready for war, just in case.

Tillerson thinks that Pyongyang needs to come to the table to negotiate if both sides want a solution. He added that the United States is ready to negotiate with North Korea’s ruling party the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea whenever they’d like to.

As I’ve told people many times, I will continue our diplomatic efforts until the first bomb drops,

Tillerson told the audience Tuesday.

U.S. Is Ready if North Korea Talks Fail

He is confident that the diplomatic solutions would be “successful” and that Mattis would be successful too if war breaks out. The Trump administration official informed the group of U.S. and South Korean leaders that the United States had deployed more military equipment to the region should violence erupt.

The nation’s top diplomat assured the foreign leaders that the U.S.’ military preparedness is beyond average. President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered military leaders to get ready a “full range of contingencies”. The U.S. is ready, Tillerson underlined.

His comments come weeks after the latest North Korean ballistic missile test, which Pyongyang presented as a threat to the continental U.S. The North Koreans claim they have developed a weapon that can target the entire American mainland.

General Mattis acknowledged that the latest missile had gone higher than any previous missiles tested by the communist regime. Mattis underlined that this can only prove North Korea hasn’t put on hold its efforts to endanger the U.S., its neighbors, and the world peace.

Florida Man Beats Woman Up with Her Gun in KFC Dispute

December 11, 2017 By John Birks

KFC restaurant(Mirror Daily, United States) – Deputies arrested a 37-year-old man from West Palm Beach, Fla., for beating up woman with a gun in a dispute about KFC. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the man was taken into custody on charges of grand theft of a gun and aggravated battery with a deadly firearm.

Calvin Shuler and the victim got into the dispute on December 2.

According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a private home in West Palm Beach after a woman dialed 911 to report violence against her. The man allegedly took her gun and beat her so hard that she was limping.

Authorities said the woman had red scratches and bruises on her body. According to the woman, Schuler left the house after beating her up because she refused to take him to a KFC restaurant.

The KFC Incident

When the man became aggressive, she locked the door to her home went to lie on the bed. Minutes later, the attacker kicked down the door and attacked the woman while standing on top of her.

As the attacker was punching her, she reached her handbag and tried to retrieve her loaded gun. The man grabbed the revolver and started hitting her head with it. The man left the home once more. Deputies were able to find him and sent him to the Palm Beach County Jail.

Four days later, a judge ordered him to be imprisoned on a $57,000 bond. The attacker was barred from making contact with the victim. The first court hearing has been scheduled for January 4.

It is not the first-time people become violent over fast food. In November, two women physically assaulted a McDonald’s manager for not taking their order for Chicken McNuggets.

The incident was caught on camera and posted on the Internet by another customer. The video went immediately viral.

GOP Leaders Assure Media There Will Be No Government Shutdown

December 9, 2017 By John Birks

U.S. Capitol during daytime(Mirror Daily, United States) – GOP leaders assured the press that the U.S. House will 100% pass a bill that will prevent a partial government shutdown over the weekend.

House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters Wednesday that there would be legislation that will keep all federal agencies operational through December 22. The government runs out of cash on Friday if Congress fails to approve a fresh round of funding.

The heads of the House Freedom Caucus also assured reporters that the bill would pass, despite the group’s previous strong opposition. Rep. Mark Meadows claims he overheard House Majority Whip Steve Scalise that there were enough votes to pass the temporary spending bill.

Meadows confirmed that the Freedom Caucus will back the measure. and gave a motive: they don’t want a distraction from the real issue – the GOP’s $1.5-trillion proposed tax reform.

The proposed tax plan which will benefit high-earners and businesses is President Trump’s top priority on his agenda. The Republican Party hopes the tax plan will mark a first major victory next year.

Conservatives Poised to Oppose Excessive Spending

After Trump negotiated permanent measures to keep the government afloat, Meadows told reporters that the conservatives would not support any measure that will lead to excessive federal spending.

I want to avoid a headline that says President Trump’s administration just passes the highest spending levels in U.S. history,

the North Carolina Republican told the press.

He added that there would be “zero support” for any excess spending regardless of the promoter of such measures. Meadows also claims that Ryan told him that he’d do whatever necessary to pass a full-year budget for the Defense Department. Ryan also wants to delay any fights in Congress on domestic spending.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Ryan can achieve that since the Senate needs at least eight Democrats to pass any legislation regarding the budget.

ABC News’ Chief Investigative Correspondent Suspended over Fake Trump Story

December 6, 2017 By John Birks

ABC News’ Chief Investigative Correspondent, Brian Ross, and Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Michael G. Vickers (Mirror Daily, United States) – ABC News’ Chief Investigative Correspondent, Brian Ross (photo left), has been forced to take a leave of absence for four weeks following a false report on President Trump and his former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

According to Ross, Flynn agreed to testify that the Commander in Chief had instructed him to contact several Russian operatives during the presidential campaign. Ross made the statements on Friday, and ABC News issued a correction Saturday, underlining that the incident happened during the transition period.

We deeply regret and apologize for the serious error we made yesterday,

the network said Saturday.

The broadcaster also explained that Ross’ report was erroneous since it hadn’t been fully vetted by its editorial team. During the report, the correspondent cited a close friend of Flynn. The report was supposed to be a bombshell that would have turned the tide of the federal investigation into Trump’s team alleged collusion with Russia.

ABC News deleted the tweet reporting Ross’ claim after it was shared by more than 25,000 users.

ABC News Corrects Ross’ Trump Story

According to the network’s correction, Ross’ source also said that Trump commissioned Flynn to engage with the Russians to help mend the relations with Russia. The order to contact Moscow to collaborate in the fight against ISIS was given after the election, ABC said.

In the statement, the network underlined that it is critical to get their stories right and preserve the public’s trust. “We fell far short of that yesterday,” it added.

University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center for Journalism Ethics noted that the mishap will just offer the Trump camp new ammunition against the press, which the President has often described as “biased” and a “fake news” spreader.

Shortly after ABC News’ correction, the President praised the broadcaster for Ross’ suspension over a “horrendously inaccurate” report. The presidential tweet ended with a criticism of the “Fake News” media.

Congratulations to @ABC News for suspending Brian Ross for his horrendously inaccurate and dishonest report on the Russia, Russia, Russia Witch Hunt. More Networks and “papers” should do the same with their Fake News!

Russian Jet Dangerously Intercepts U.S. Warplane over Black Sea

November 29, 2017 By John Birks

U.S. war planes(Mirror Daily, United States) – After a Russian military plane unsafely intercepted a U.S. warplane flying above the Black Sea, Moscow told the Pentagon that the U.S. military had “no business” in the region.

According to initial reports, a Russian Su-30 plane intercepted a U.S. P-8A Poseidon flying near national waters. Russia shares the Black Sea with three NATO and U.S. allies: Turkey, Romania, and Bulgaria, the latter two having broken off of the Soviet bloc in 1989.

Military experts said that the latest incident was a close call. It is not the first time one such incident leads to a tense encounter between Russia and the United States. The relations between the two superpowers soured in 2014, with the annexation of Crimea.

According to the U.S. Defense Department, the Russian fighter jet was incredibly aggressive while in international airspace. Even though the U.S. war plane had the transponders on, the Russian pilot reportedly arrived in front of the U.S. plane, which caused “violent turbulence” to the latter. The U.S. jet’s afterburners were slightly damaged in the encounter.

The Russian army has not issued an official response but Russian TV networks debunked claims that the Russian airplane was at fault. One of the Rossiya 24 commenters said Moscow’s aircraft “spoiled the plans of the American reconnaissance jet.”

Retired officers agreed on state TV that the Russian airplane did the right thing and that the U.S. warplane had to leave.

“Americans have nothing to do in the Black Sea. This is an enclosed sea,”

former deputy commander Nikolay Antoshkin told RIA Novosti.

The retired officer also complained that during Soviet times, no one dared to fly freely above the Black Sea. Turkey now pushes for NATO forces to move to the Black Sea to prevent the Russians from acting as if the sea is a “Russian lake”.

Woman Helps Homeless Vet Get Back on His Feet, Moved by His Kindness

November 23, 2017 By John Birks

Woman and Homeless Man(Mirror Daily, United States) – Last month, a homeless man from Philadelphia helped a woman by buying her gasoline when she ran out of gas and cash. The man gave his last $20 to help her. One month later, she helped him change his life.

Kate McClure, 27, recalls that she had to pull over because her gas tank was empty. She then saw a homeless man moving in her direction and telling her to stay in her car until he buys her gas from a nearby gas station.

The man, named Johnny, went to the gas station, filled a can with gas and paid with his last $20. McClure wasn’t able to immediately repay him because she had no money but promised to return with something.

She has returned and repaid the man, but she felt like there was more she could do to help him. Each time she and her boyfriend visited the spot where Johnny was staying, they learned more and more about him.

Johnny’s Story

The couple agreed on helping him get back on his feet, so they went to GoFundMe and asked money for Johnny’s case. The initial goal was $10,000, but in less than two weeks, the page garnered more than $100,000.

 It just blew up,

the woman said about the GoFundMe campaign after she had shared it on Facebook.

Johnny, 34, told the woman that he has been living on the streets for a year. He also said that he used to work as a paramedic after serving in the Marine Corps. But a year ago, he moved to Philadelphia with enough cash in his wallet to buy a truck. At the time, he had a job there.

However, when he lost his job, he survived off pennies until he ended up on the street. He also lost his ID which made him unable to work. Johnny recalls that he only planned to stay one night on the streets but that soon turned into weeks, months, and a year.

FBI’s Handling of Clinton Investigation under Scrutiny

November 16, 2017 By John Birks

Hillary R. Clinton(Mirror Daily, United States) – On Wednesday, the inspector general announced that he has started an investigation into the way the FBI and Department of Justice have handled the Clinton probes during last year’s presidential race.

IG Michael Horowitz hopes to complete the investigation by next spring. He added that the probe is moving fast and that “dozens of people” have been interviewed.

The official made the remarks during a hearing in front of the House Oversight Committee. He also disclosed that his team had sifted through 1.2 million records during the probe.

A final report should be ready by March or April 2018, but there may be delays if new revelations appear. Horowitz unveiled that classified info has been reviewed and that former government officials should undergo re-checks for their security clearance.

Horwitz’ team is mainly interested in whether former FBI director James Comey followed the DOJ’s policies when he handled the probe into then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s handling of government e-mail via a private server.

Comey shocked America when he confirmed that there was an ongoing investigation into the issue just to go public and clear Clinton shortly after. Comey justified the latest move by citing corruption at the FBI’s upper management levels. He reportedly feared his probe would have been corrupted too.

Comey Ousted by Trump

President Donald Trump fired Comey in May for the way he handled the Clinton probe, but the ousted FBI chief thinks his firing was related to the investigation into the alleged Russia meddling in the 2016 U.S. election.

On Tuesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions blasted Comey for being too outspoken about that probe into Russia during a congressional hearing in March.

“Mr. Comey talked more than he should,”

Sessions told House Intelligence Committee.

In March, Comey confirmed the existence of the investigation although it was against the DOJ’s rules to do it.
