The effects of climate change have been seen over the years. Despite the fact that many people don’t believe that climate change is real, the changes that the Earth suffered are the proof that climate change exists.
This year was considered the worst year due to climate change. There are a lot of things that have changed in 2016. Many animal species are on the verge of extinction due to the fact that they are losing their habitats.
Global warming has a dramatic impact when it comes to the Arctic. The temperatures in the North Pole are way higher than they were supposed to be and this is melting the sea ice. The sea ice is important for many species including polar bears which are believed to be extinct in a few years when the ice is melted completely.
Another thing that was affected by climate change was the agriculture, especially the coffee production. The worldwide agriculture is suffering many changes due to global warming. Experts mentioned that in a few years more than half of the land that is used for producing coffee won’t be able to be used any longer.
The Arctic is not the only part of the world that is suffering changes due to climate change. Australia’s Great Barrier Reef has also been affected by these problems. The warm waters and oceans are the one responsible for killing the corals that are part of the Great Barrier Reef. Researchers mentioned that more than 50% of corals have been lost in the last 30 years.
This year was also the hottest year ever. The temperatures this year were even higher than last year when it was considered to be the hottest year too. The temperatures were especially high in the first half of the year due to the El Nino.
All of the effects of climate change have affected the Earth in 2016 and it is hard or even impossible to recover from these problems. People need to understand that climate change is real and that it affects all of us even if we don’t see it.
What is your opinion about the changes that the Earth suffered this year? Do you think that next year it would be a better year for agriculture?
