Missouri police officials reported that the body of a well-known Ku Klux Klan member was found in the Missouri River by a group of local fishers. The autopsy revealed that the imperial wizard was shot in the head before being dumped in the river. Authorities have failed to round up any suspects.
On Saturday, the Missouri police officials discovered the body of 51-year-old Frank Ancona, an imperial wizard of the Ku Klux Klan chapter. Ancona was affiliated with the St. Louis Traditionalist American Knights, and the officials believe that the man’s murder was a gratuitous act of violence.
According to the results of the on-going investigation, Ancona held the position of Imperial Wizard for several years and did not receive any death threats.
The events leading to the discovery of Ancona’s body started to unfold on Friday after the Ku Klux Klan member failed to show for work and did not answer his cellphone. After questioning Ancona’s wife, the authorities learned that the man was scheduled to make a delivery on Wednesday. However, the man’s wife waited until Friday to report his disappearance.
On Thursday, the man’s abandoned pick-up truck was found in the Federal Forest Service Property, but no trace of Ancona.
Zach Jacobsen, a sheriff who’s involved in Ancona’s disappearance and murder declared that the man’s case began taking shape after the authorities discovered that his wife is waiting for more than a day before reporting her husband’s vanishing.
On Saturday, a band of local fishers discovered body stuck in a Missouri riverbed. The autopsy performed on Sunday confirmed that the body spotted by the local fishermen belonged to Frank Ancona and that the cause of dead was a gunshot wound to the head.
At the moment, the investigators haven’t made any arrests, but are pursuing some avenues of interests. During their investigations, the authorities have discovered that the house Ancona owns in Leadwood was apparently burglarized.
After investigating the premises, the police officials discovered that Ancona’s safe was pried open with a crowbar and its contents have been emptied. Furthermore, after interviewing Malissa Ancona, the Ku Klux Klan member’s wife, authorities have learned that, before leaving to make his delivery, Ancona took most of his firearms, save for a handgun which he left at home.
According to Jacobsen, Ancona’s wife has currently been called a person of interest in her husband’s disappearance and murder.
