Weaponry Is Being Sold on Facebook Groups

April 8, 2016 By Joe Hennessey Leave a Comment

"Weaponry"

Facebook groups were being used for weapons trade by terrorists from the Middle East.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Even though Zuckerberg explicitly declared that his company will not tolerate any activity linked to terrorism, weaponry is being sold on Facebook groups. It seems that extremists have managed to find a loophole in the social platform’s terms and conditions, and they are still using it as a place where they can buy or sell heavy weaponry.

When Zuckerberg’s team thought about the groups feature, they had old classmates and fandoms in mind, not terrorists that want to unite and post pictures will all of the available weaponry for sale.

But instead of “The Cat Lovers Group” and “Yale 2015 Graduation Ceremony”, which are standard groups meant to bring together people interested in a particular activity, there are groups on the social network that deal with gun exchanges and extremist religious views.

The company announced that six such groups were already deleted from the platform, but there are several additional ones that they were not able to track so far.

The Facebook bazaars were hidden in groups meant for weapons enthusiasts. The sellers would post pictures of rare weapons, guns, and bombs usually used by terrorists and talk about them as a beauty forum discusses the latest trend in dyeing your hair.

This allowed the members to exchange rare, expensive weaponry that was later used in terrorist activities. The people who joined these groups were originally from Syria or Iraq. Because Facebook offers its users the possibility of making direct transactions, they managed to conduct significant business operations and bring dangerous weapons, bombs, and technology to the Middle East.

The company managed to locate one other group, but they weren’t able to shut it down because there was no visible evidence that the members were using it for the purpose of buying or selling weapons. The group is still active, but the social platform is monitoring it carefully so that it will be able to close at the first sign of illegal trade.

The global policy director at Facebook, Monika Bickert, declared in an interview with Times Magazine that

“Since we were offering features like that, we thought we wanted to make clear that this is not a site that wants to facilitate the private sales of firearms.”

Facebook’s creator, Mark Zuckerberg has received threats from terrorist groups in the past. The extremist organization was angry with the businessman that his platform was deleting the accounts of its members. In the public threat, the terrorist organization mentioned the existence of Facebook groups belonging to terrorists.

Twitter and Facebook Founders Threatened by ISIS

February 25, 2016 By Joe Hennessey Leave a Comment

"Mark Zuckenberg, CEO of Facebook"

Neither Zuckenberg, nor Dorsey wished to comment on the threats emitted by the CSA.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – A video released by an ISIS-supporting terrorist group, the “Sons Caliphate Army” warned Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg that their efforts against on-line terrorism are useless. The SCA threatened the social media giants that their eradication measures are futile and their “names will soon be erased”.

The hacker terrorist group behind these threats, the “Sons Caliphate Army”, made a 25-minute long video in which they presented all of their “achievements”. They also showed pictures with Twitter and Facebook’s CEO’s, Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg being used as target practice. After they were done shooting at the cardboard figures of the two media giants the terrorist group burned the pictures in order for their message to be clear.

Mythology thought us that the hydra was a magical creature that thrived when it was attacked. The reason? When you cut one head, two more took its place. The concept was later adopted by the Captain America comic books where a Nazi German group named themselves “Hydra” and munched on cyanide pills when they got caught.

The SCA took the analogy even further and threatened Dorsey and Zuckerberg that with every account they delete, they will hack ten more. This is the first serious threat that the social media moguls received after they publicly announced last month that they are actively trying to eliminate all terrorist-affiliated profiles from their platforms.

But why is the Islamic State so interested in having profiles on social media platforms that support most things Allah bans? Because Twitter and Facebook have millions of active users, a gold mine for ISIS potential recruits.

Only this month, Twitter announced that 125.000 accounts were suspended because of terrorist affiliations. According to the press release, these accounts were either threatening or promoting acts of terrorism, all in the name of ISIS.

Facebook also made it very clear that any promotion or praise linked to terrorism or terror act are strictly prohibited on the platform. Users that do not follow this rule will have their accounts deleted.

As you can see in the short version of the SCA video embedded below, the terrorist group of hackers claim that they are presently in control of 10,000 accounts and 150 groups on Facebook and over 5,000 profiles on Twitter.

Also, they deemed the two social network’s eradicating efforts as being futile because “they are not in their league”.

Neither Facebook nor Twitter representatives had anything to comment regarding the video.

ISIS Leader Wounded in Air Strike

April 21, 2015 By Joe Hennessey Leave a Comment

al baghdadi

British journalists form The Guardian cited sources who said Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been seriously injuerd in a March air strike in western Iraq, and his condition had made it very difficult for him to lead the organization.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State group, has been severely injured in a March 18 airstrike in western Iraq, the Guardian newspaper announced on Tuesday.

Citing several sources from Iraq, the report mentioned that although al-Baghdadi’s wounds are no longer life-threatening, his condition is keeping him away from being the terrorist organization’s leader.

The Guardian also added that “Baghdadi’s wounding led to urgent meetings of Isis leaders, who initially believed he would die and made plans to name a new leader.” The March strike targeted the al-Baaj a district of Nineveh, very close to the border with Syria, two separate sources told the newspaper.

Baghdadi was reportedly traveling in a convoy with other ISIS leaders. The three-car convoy that was hit by the U.S.-lead coalition forces, and at least three people were killed. It appears the coalition did not know Baghdadi was sitting in one of the cars. The coalition has been targeting ISIS leadership as a very important part of its campaign against the Caliphate..

It is not the first time that Baghdadi is reported to be seriously injured. In October 2014, after intense coalition attacks on ISIS’ major stronghold city of Raqqa in Syria, Baghdadi was supposedly injured. The ISIS leader was said to have left for Mosul in Iraq. News statements in November announced he may have been killed, but a few days later later ISIS released an audio tape they argue was of Baghdadi.

It is thought that on December 14, 2014, Baghdadi was nearly killed as the convoy he was travelling in was hit and one of his most important aides lost his life, but his car was not attacked. There have been other news from Syria in January that he was gravely injured in an airstrike, but Baghdadi was rarely seen in public even before the coalition begun its air campaign against ISIS.

Baghdadi has always been careful to tell little about himself and the places he visits, and even his own troops do not speak about meeting him face-to-face. The ISIS leader also appears to wear a mask when addressing his commanders and is sometimes called “the invisible sheikh”.

Ancient Civilization Relics Wiped Out: ISIS Fighters Destroy Yet Another Archaeological Site at Nimrud, Iraq

March 6, 2015 By John Birks Leave a Comment

lamassus

After last week’s shocking destructions at the Mosul Museum, when ISIS extremists filmed themselves hammer-drilling statues from the ancient city of Nineveh, another tragic devastation happened at the archaeological site of Nimrud. The authors of the damage claim to be following the words of the Quran, but their interpretation of Islamic law is very far-fetched and their actions are aimed at scandalizing the Western world and mocking its values.

Nimrud, by its ancient name Kalhu (or the Biblical Calah), is a city situated in the north of Bagdad, founded more than 3,000 years ago by Shalmaneser I (1274 BC – 1245 BC or 1265 BC – 1235 BC) an Assyrian king of the Middle Assyrian Empire (1365 – 1050 BC). The city is thought by experts to have been already inhabited as far back as 7,000 years ago. Some of the buildings preserved from the ancient settlement, like the palace of King Ashurnasirpal II (who ruled from 883 to 859 BC), were important testimonies of Assyrian architectural techniques, as well as Assyrian sculpting and writing techniques.

The archaeological site in Nimrud was mostly excavated by British explorers, and several objects found there belong to the British Museum now. In 2002, it was listed by the World Monuments Fund as one of the world’s most endangered sites, because the stone reliefs were decaying due to the weather and were unguarded from thieves. Since the war against Iraq broke out in 2003, the site was practically abandoned, because of the failure of the Iraqi state structures. However, according to Ihsan Fethi, a specialist in evaluating damaged archaeological sites and a member of the Iraqi Architects Society, the site was still in a decent condition until now.

Among the most precious artifacts that were most probably destroyed are the winged-bull stone colossi called “Lamassu”, with human heads and beards. Similar statues were destroyed at the Mosul Museum last week. Nimrud was also important for the steles and bas-reliefs showing scenes of war and hunting, as well as mythological creatures like bird-headed genies. The loss of these important relics was deplored by former UNESCO world heritage officer in charge of Iraq monuments George Papagiannis, who considered the Nimrud barbaric destructions a huge misfortune to the work of historical preservation. Iraq’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Thursday that extremists have been using heavy vehicles like bulldozers to smash the ancient vestiges. The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities regrets the behavior of these barbaric groups, and considers that they are defying “the will of the world and the feelings of humanity”.

Candlelight vigil for 3 Muslims killed in N.C

February 12, 2015 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

Thousands of residents from this quiet town stood in a candlelight vigil at Chapel Hill, NC where three Muslim students will be buried. Authorities are still trying to figure out if the killing was for a parking space dispute or religious hatred played a role.

Deah Shaddy Barakat, a 23-year-old dental student, his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21; and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, of Raleigh were killed allegedly by their neighbor Craig Stephen Hicks. The Funeral will take place at Raleigh at 1.30 PM.

Police had ruled out .the possibility of religious hatred initially and investigation has revealed that the killing was a culmination of a long-simmering dispute.

Three-Killed-North-Carolina

All the victims were of Syrian origin and were born in the US and grew up in North Carolina region.

Deah Shaddy and Yusor Mohammad were recently married and were socially very active. They had volunteered to help the homeless and also helped to raise money for Syrian minorities in Turkey who had fled persecution in ISIS controlled Syria and Iraq.

The couple had met while helping to run the Muslim Student Association at N.C. State before Shaddy decided to pursue higher studies degree in dentistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Yusor Mohammad also planned to join her husband in dentistry school in the fall.

Ali Sajjad, 21, the president of the Muslim Student Association at N.C. State said,” This was like the power couple of our community.”

The killing sent shock waves across the seemingly quiet town and as many as 2000 persons stood for a candlelight vigil in the heart of University of North Carolina campus Wednesday evening.

Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, faces charges of three counts of first-degree murder and is being held without bond.

Local authorities were at pains to explain that every aspect of this senseless and brutal act is being investigated.

Chris Blue of the Chapel Hill Police Department said, “We understand the concerns about the possibility that this was hate-motivated and we will exhaust every lead to determine if that is the case. Our thoughts are with the families and friends of these young people who lost their lives so needlessly.”

White House Confirms American hostage Mueller’s death

February 10, 2015 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

It is now official; American Aid Worker Kayla Mueller who has been held hostage by ISIS has been killed. The acknowledgement was made a couple of days after ISIS said that US Hostage Kayla Mueller has been killed in a Jordanian Air Strike.

President Obama said in a statement released by the White House, “It is with profound sadness that we have learned of the death of Kayla Jean Mueller. On behalf of the American people, Michelle and I convey our deepest condolences to Kayla’s family – her parents, Marsha and Carl, and her brother Eric and his family – and all of those who loved Kayla dearly. At this time of unimaginable suffering, the country shares in their grief.”

dc_kayle_mueller_lf_150206_16x9_992

ISIS had claimed in a statement on Friday that Mueller had been killed in a Jordanian Air Strike. However it did not present with any evidence leading to doubts about its claims.

A spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, Bernadette Meehan said that during the course of the week the Mueller family “received a private message from Kayla’s ISIS captors containing additional information. Once this information was authenticated by the intelligence community, they concluded that Kayla was deceased”

It is still not clear when or how Mueller was killed. Mueller was kidnapped in August 2013 in Syria.

Mueller’s parents, Carl and Marsha, released a statement shortly after the White House confirmation of Mueller’s death, “We are heartbroken to share that we’ve received confirmation that Kayla Jean Mueller, has lost her life. Kayla was a compassionate and devoted humanitarian. She dedicated the whole of her young life to helping those in need from freedom, justice and peace… Our hearts are breaking for our only daughter, but we will continue in peace, dignity and love for her.”

Mueller, from Prescott, Ariz., was kidnapped on Aug. 4, 2013 after leaving Spanish ‘Doctors without Borders’ hospital in Aleppo, Syria, according to information provided by a family spokesperson.

ISIS claims US female hostage killed in coalition air-strike in Syria

February 6, 2015 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

ISIS has claimed on Friday that an American hostage had been killed in an air strike in Syria by US led coalition.

ISIS in a statement which was posted on the Jihadist websites said that the woman was buried under the rubble after a raid by Jordanian Warplanes in Raqa. Raqa is the capital of the self proclaimed caliphate of ISIS.

“The plane from the crusader coalition bombed a position outside the city of Raqa after Friday prayers. No fighter was wounded but we can confirm that an American hostage was killed in the strikes.”

The statement was not accompanied with any pictures and there was no independent confirmation of the reported death.

US officials have not commented on the incident.

usa-islamic-state-kayla-mueller

State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said, “I cannot confirm those reports in any way. I’m not going into specifics of Americans held overseas.”

ISIS jihadists now control large swathes of land in Iraq and Syria. ISIS rules and interprets a particularly brutal version of Islamic Law. The group has gained notoriety by its brutal methods of executing its prisoners which includes beheading and the latest –burning alive in a cage. The group has killed two US journalists, an American Aid Worker, two British aid workers, two Japanese hostages, and a Jordanian Pilot.

Jordan , which is one of the many Arab countries which are supporting the US led air strikes has vowed a befitting response after ISIS released a particularly horrid video this week showing the burning alive of pilot Maaz al-Kassasbeh.

Maaz al-Kassasbeh was taken prisoner by ISIS when his F-16 crashed in Syria in an area controlled by the Sunni Extremists during the course of a bombing campaign led by the US.

The Islamic State message was published by SITE Intelligence group which tracks jihadist activity, stated that the American woman was killed when the building where she was held captive collapsed in an airstrike.
