Wild Hunt received three awards for outstanding game design, story, and technical achievements.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners at the 2016 “Annual Interactive Achievement Awards”. The “Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain” annual awards gala has reached the nineteenth edition.

For the movies, there are the Oscars, and for games, there are the DICE awards. This year the star of the gala was non-other than Bethesda’s Fallout 4. The post-apocalyptic role-playing game scooped a number of awards, including GOTY, outstanding achievement from the game direction point of view and RPG of the year. And the “Fallout Shelter” mobile app was crowned the year’s best mobile game.

Tod Howard, creative director of the Fallout franchise said that the inspiration merits belong to his amazing colleagues.

The main competitor of Bethesda’s Boston RPG post-apocalyptic crowned game was “The Witcher III: Wild Hunt”. The RPG inspired by Andrej Sapkowski’s novellas managed to go home with three DICE awards for outstanding achievement in game design, story, and technical achievement.

But there were additional winners at the gala. Some of which deserved better recognition.

Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners, but there are other games who snatched three important awards. Moon Studios’ “Ori and the Blind Forest” platform adventure game was rewarded for outstanding achievements in the composition of original music, art direction, and animation. Let us hope that the spirits were pleased with these awards.

The Sprite Award from DICE, the award given to games that were developed with a minimum amount of resources was awarded to “Rocket League” from Psyonix. The vehicle combat – soccer merger was also honored with trophies for the best game about sports and online gameplay outstanding achievement.

Psyonix’s studio director and CEO was thrilled. In his acceptance speech he wanted to point out the fact that the fans are the main reason, the game managed to get so far. All those people who enjoyed their game and recommended it to other people.

And since 2015 the Force awakened a new Star Wars era, it was impossible for “Star Wars: Battlefront” to go home empty-handed. The sci-fi, force-wielding shooter managed to score best action game and sound design outstanding achievement.

“Rise of the Tomb Raider’s” Lara Croft was designated outstanding character of the year. Best family game of 2015 award was claimed by “Super Mario Maker”. “Phantom Pain”, the fifth installment of “Metal Gear Solid” won best adventure game of the year. The year’s best fighting game trophy was won by the best fighting game of 2015, by far, “Mortal Kombat X”.

The best racing game was awarded to “Forza Motors VI”, handheld GOTY went to “Helldivers” and simulation/strategy GOTY award was handed to “Heroes of the Storm”.

Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners, but all of the competing games made a name for themselves one way or another.

“Rise of the Tomb Raider” Is All You Will Want to Play

The game focuses on the first adventure of Lara Croft, and the action shapes the future Tomb Raider.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Older gamers know how it’s like to grow up exploring mysteries with Lara Croft and the reboots of the game are a dream came true for both old and new gaming enthusiasts. And with the PC version now available, the new “Rise of the Tomb Raider” is all you will want to play.

Lara Croft is back in higher quality, visually and plot-related speaking. The graphics are outstanding, and the story will glue you to your chair as you try to find out who Trinity is and what lies in the secret cave in Syria or under the iciness of Siberia. Is it the secret of immortality the Croft senior disappeared for or is just a game story that refuses to let you do anything else than play it? All we know for sure is that “Rise of the Tomb Raider” is all you will want to play on your PC starting this January.

The game focuses on the legacy that Lara’s father bestows upon her. In the teaser trailer, Lara is presented reading his notes and discovering clues about something called the “divine source”, which, as we are hinted, is the secret of immortality.

The problem for Lara Croft is that she isn’t the only one looking for the mysterious supernatural force. Her father’s diary warns her about a group called “Trinity” that will do anything to get their hands on the divine source.

Her quests take her from the Syrian Desert where she discovers an undercover cave where the source might be, to the icy cold Siberia. While exploring she is continuously pursued and attacked by members of the Trinity.

It’s basically a twist on the Prince of Persia game. The protagonist goes on to a dangerous quest of finding the secret of immortality, or any Indiana Jones movie. But this doesn’t make it a bad game, on the contrary.

As the name suggests, the game focuses on the “Rise of the Tomb Raider”, which means the gamer witnesses the birth of Lara Croft, the bad gun-wielding, bomb-planting, parkour and martial arts expert that she turns out to be in the other games. So they will be able to see a young, naïve Lara learning all about guns, explosives and fight moves.

Apart from the great game design, the new Tomb Raider also features some high-quality cinematics that does an impressive job completing the story.

All in all, the PC version of “Rise of the Tomb Raider” is all you will want to play.
