Rocket League Will Get a Physical Release

Rocket League is a game where soccer players are substituted by super power cars.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – The indie wonder that lets you play soccer while driving a car was so well received by the gaming public that it is going to be released in solid form. So prepare your wheels to score some goals as Rocket League will get a physical release.

The soccer game that features rocket-like cars instead of players was a hit among PlayStation 4 users last year. Then Rocket League got published on Steam for Xbox One at the beginning of February, and it had the same significant impact on players.

People seem to be overly joyed with the idea of playing such a classic sport like soccer with rocket-like cars. The independent producers of Rocket League took a shot when developing the game and it seems that it paid off marvelously.

Seeing as the FIFA-Need for Speed hybrid fared rather well on Steam, Rocket League will get a physical release, also. The Collector’s Edition of the game will be released in the third quarter of this year, and it will be available in retail stores worldwide.

Furthermore, the physical copy will come with additional surprises such as all the DLC updates that have been released so far and retail-only exclusive content. The price was not revealed thus far.

The developing company has not made any official statement regarding the nature of the retail-only exclusive content, but from what they hinted, fans will be delighted by the new features.

According to the on-line forums of Rocket League fans, the enthusiastic players hope that the retail-only exclusive content will be made available for on-line download as well.

Some players paid for the game on Steam, and they probably don’t want to spend extra money on a game that they already have just for some extra features.

But there are also a lot of fans that got Rocket League for free if they subscribed to a PlayStation Plus account. It may be that the releasing independent company is counting on them to whip out some cash and pay for both the game and the extra features. Because at the end of the day that is how you show your support for a product that you enjoyed using.

As Rocket League will get a physical release, it may be possible that the fan base will grow even larger. That would mean that there is a new niche opened on the gaming market: the wacky hybrid games. Next time maybe somebody will combine GTA with Donkey Kong.

Wild Hunt received three awards for outstanding game design, story, and technical achievements.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners at the 2016 “Annual Interactive Achievement Awards”. The “Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain” annual awards gala has reached the nineteenth edition.

For the movies, there are the Oscars, and for games, there are the DICE awards. This year the star of the gala was non-other than Bethesda’s Fallout 4. The post-apocalyptic role-playing game scooped a number of awards, including GOTY, outstanding achievement from the game direction point of view and RPG of the year. And the “Fallout Shelter” mobile app was crowned the year’s best mobile game.

Tod Howard, creative director of the Fallout franchise said that the inspiration merits belong to his amazing colleagues.

The main competitor of Bethesda’s Boston RPG post-apocalyptic crowned game was “The Witcher III: Wild Hunt”. The RPG inspired by Andrej Sapkowski’s novellas managed to go home with three DICE awards for outstanding achievement in game design, story, and technical achievement.

But there were additional winners at the gala. Some of which deserved better recognition.

Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners, but there are other games who snatched three important awards. Moon Studios’ “Ori and the Blind Forest” platform adventure game was rewarded for outstanding achievements in the composition of original music, art direction, and animation. Let us hope that the spirits were pleased with these awards.

The Sprite Award from DICE, the award given to games that were developed with a minimum amount of resources was awarded to “Rocket League” from Psyonix. The vehicle combat – soccer merger was also honored with trophies for the best game about sports and online gameplay outstanding achievement.

Psyonix’s studio director and CEO was thrilled. In his acceptance speech he wanted to point out the fact that the fans are the main reason, the game managed to get so far. All those people who enjoyed their game and recommended it to other people.

And since 2015 the Force awakened a new Star Wars era, it was impossible for “Star Wars: Battlefront” to go home empty-handed. The sci-fi, force-wielding shooter managed to score best action game and sound design outstanding achievement.

“Rise of the Tomb Raider’s” Lara Croft was designated outstanding character of the year. Best family game of 2015 award was claimed by “Super Mario Maker”. “Phantom Pain”, the fifth installment of “Metal Gear Solid” won best adventure game of the year. The year’s best fighting game trophy was won by the best fighting game of 2015, by far, “Mortal Kombat X”.

The best racing game was awarded to “Forza Motors VI”, handheld GOTY went to “Helldivers” and simulation/strategy GOTY award was handed to “Heroes of the Storm”.

Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 are the big DICE winners, but all of the competing games made a name for themselves one way or another.
