The Division Game Review

March 16, 2016 By Tara Hamilton Leave a Comment

"The Division"

The Division tries to mimic real life situations, so the gadgets and weaponry have real equivalents.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – A post-apocalyptic scenario, a team of sleepers, fighting to end the mayhem that engulfed the Big Apple, features that make you want to lose some serious sleep while fighting to stop the spread of a deadly virus and key cut scenes and world-building. This is The Division game review.

If a secret organization wants to release a deadly virus that will ultimately eradicate humankind, the best place to start is New York. And what better time than Black Friday? It’s like people are gathering in large masses and asking to be attacked. And as players were able to test here, an airborne virus spreads easily and efficiently.

But the government always has a plan prepared, so there are a few people out there that were injected with dormant cells that attack and contain the virus, keeping the members of the Division safe from infection. These are the brave men and women that will ultimately save humankind from being destroyed by the deadly weapon.

In order for the players to put two and two together and create a complete infection scenario, they will have to find various sources of information. Cell phones that still display a distress text, footage from surveillance cameras, laptops that have enough battery in them to let you play an audio snippet and then shut down, and, the public’s favorites, holographic scenes that reenact particular scenes are scattered around the Big Apple.

Not taking Tom Clancy’s name in vain, the available weapons are either already in the hands of American troops or in those of the gun developers. There aren’t any futuristic, physics-bending weaponry, even though the action apparently takes place in the future. But not such a distant one seeing as Black Friday still gathered a lot of people in actual shops, and not on-line.

But there are several modifications to the gaming experience. For example, the player is able to move rather smoothly (of course, the PC you use is a crucial variable), but they are not able to perform crouched walking or go prone.

The best thing about The Division is that it imitates life perfectly. As opposed to other RPGs, you can shoot blindly and actually hit something while doing so. So in your retreat or your cover fire you can score additional points without breaking too much sweat.

Abilities are gained after areas of the safe house are build. In order to do so, you must complete missions. And besides loot, equipment and XP you gather points that you can spend in security, medicine or tech.

Each one of these comes with special features, but the character is pretty fluid, so there isn’t a restriction of playing a single role throughout the game.

All in all, the Division is a solid video game, with exceptional features that are better discovered by players. There are a lot of spoilers in other reviews so if you’re the kind of gamer who likes his experience untarnished, just hit the gaming platform of your choosing.

The Division game review could fill countless of pages, but players only need to know one thing. It’s as good as they promised and more.

The Division Will Not Feature P2W or Microtransactions

February 29, 2016 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

"The Division promotional poster"

The Division takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Natchai Stappers, the community manager at Ubisoft has confirmed via Twitter that The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions. This is one of the best news yet as there were a lot of rumors floating around about Phoenix Credits, an in-game currency system.

Ubisoft is trying really hard to focus all of its attention on The Division for the moment. As there are only eight more days until the game is officially launched, players are starting to get anxious and all sorts of rumors are surfacing.

One of these rumors revolved around the in-game currency system. Players believed that the Phoenix Credits were available for purchase thus allowing the P2W (when players pay for in-game features in order to win the game) option.

But Natchai Stappers put a stop to all of the rumors twitting that The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions.

It seems that the Phoenix Credits indeed exist, but they will be achieved with hard gaming rather than intensive shopping.

Ubisoft has not released any official statements about the role of the Phoenix Credits. But fans have just a little more waiting to do as Tom Clancy’s latest installment will be launched on the 8th of March for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The open-world first-person shooter is highly marketed by Ubisoft. They even launched a sort of teaser that personalizes the beginning of the game for each player.

If you hadn’t had a chance of seeing how many days it would take you to sicken the entire world with your unknown breed of smallpox, you can check out the incredibly geographic accurate simulation here.

Also, Ubisoft has released an extensive trailer last month in which the company initiated players in all the new skills that The Division will feature. The basic skills were security, technology and medical and each featured a ton of great weaponry and all sorts of special attributes.

The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions. This is extremely good news as there will not be random players with ultimate superpowers able to kill you with a sneeze just because they wanted to pay extra and experience a significantly easier game action.

The latest installment in the Tom Clancy franchise has been long awaited by fans everywhere. The beta-testers were extremely pleased with the map that they were able to test, and the overall gameplay is very well constructed.

For those of you who didn’t have the chance of checking out the Beta reviews, you can take a peek at the video below.

The Division Beta Testing Was Extended

February 1, 2016 By Joe Hennessey Leave a Comment

The Division Beta testing was extended with an additional 24 hours.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Ubisoft announced that the Division Beta testing was extended with 24 additional hours. The Beta was scheduled to end this on the 1st of February, but it was prolonged until the 2nd of February (CET 12 PM, PST 3 AM, EST 6 AM). This will give the players that have received late invitations a chance of better exploring the post-apocalyptical New York scene.

Ubisoft decided to extend the beta trial for the latest installment of the Tom Clancy series, The Division. The extension doesn’t come alone, though. The game developer also extended the number on beta testing invitations.

Players that did not make it in the first The Division Beta cut will be able to experience 24 hours of it if they were contacted by Ubisoft. According to the company, the invites were sent to those that had a pre-order access code. The receivers of the Division Beta testing invitations were chosen in the order in which they made their purchase, in order to avoid any conflict.

The beta testing was initially designed to last 3 days, 4 days for those who prefer the X-box. It seems that Ubisoft realized that the time was not enough for beta players to get a full taste of what the game has to offer, so they extended the period for one more day.

One of the reasons for Ubisoft’s decision might be the fact that they granted a restricted early access just to make sure that the game was running smoothly, with no bugs or glitches. After they (might have) patched up everything, they decided to make the beta testing available on a larger scale.

The Tom Clancy series are a massive multiplayer on-line first person shooter real-time tactics, squad-based tactics games. The story behind the latest Tom Clancy installment takes place in a post-apocalyptic town of New York.

The map available for the beta users featured a couple of important campaign missions, one of them actually unlocked the player’s operations base, the additional wings of the base that are upgradable throughout the game-play, a portion of the Dark Zone area and, since The Division Beta testing was extended, a lot of character progression, leveling, and loot.

The complete game will be launched on the 8th of March. Ubisoft believes that the game will be a success according to the beta feedback that the company has received.

All beta players that will purchase the entire game will be able to continue their missions without having to restart.

For those of you who weren’t granted access to the beta testing, you can check out the honest opinion video below.
