The Division Will Not Feature P2W or Microtransactions

February 29, 2016 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

"The Division promotional poster"

The Division takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – Natchai Stappers, the community manager at Ubisoft has confirmed via Twitter that The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions. This is one of the best news yet as there were a lot of rumors floating around about Phoenix Credits, an in-game currency system.

Ubisoft is trying really hard to focus all of its attention on The Division for the moment. As there are only eight more days until the game is officially launched, players are starting to get anxious and all sorts of rumors are surfacing.

One of these rumors revolved around the in-game currency system. Players believed that the Phoenix Credits were available for purchase thus allowing the P2W (when players pay for in-game features in order to win the game) option.

But Natchai Stappers put a stop to all of the rumors twitting that The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions.

It seems that the Phoenix Credits indeed exist, but they will be achieved with hard gaming rather than intensive shopping.

Ubisoft has not released any official statements about the role of the Phoenix Credits. But fans have just a little more waiting to do as Tom Clancy’s latest installment will be launched on the 8th of March for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The open-world first-person shooter is highly marketed by Ubisoft. They even launched a sort of teaser that personalizes the beginning of the game for each player.

If you hadn’t had a chance of seeing how many days it would take you to sicken the entire world with your unknown breed of smallpox, you can check out the incredibly geographic accurate simulation here.

Also, Ubisoft has released an extensive trailer last month in which the company initiated players in all the new skills that The Division will feature. The basic skills were security, technology and medical and each featured a ton of great weaponry and all sorts of special attributes.

The Division will not feature P2W or microtransactions. This is extremely good news as there will not be random players with ultimate superpowers able to kill you with a sneeze just because they wanted to pay extra and experience a significantly easier game action.

The latest installment in the Tom Clancy franchise has been long awaited by fans everywhere. The beta-testers were extremely pleased with the map that they were able to test, and the overall gameplay is very well constructed.

For those of you who didn’t have the chance of checking out the Beta reviews, you can take a peek at the video below.

Necropolis – “A Diabolical Dungeon Delve”

February 27, 2016 By Ryan Harris Leave a Comment

"Necropolis video game still"

Necropolis will feature ever-changing dungeons in a monster filled town.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – From the studio that brought you “Shadowrun Returns” and the publisher behind the terrifying, nerve-wracking, most difficult game ever made, “Dark Souls”, prepare to face a hoard of ghosts in an unfriendly dungeon town in Necropolis – “A Diabolical Delve”.

Harebrained Schemes has convinced Bandai Namco to join the team behind Necropolis – “A Diabolical Dungeon Delve”. And even though the game was supposed to be released next month, they have delayed the event until this summer.

While it is no surprise that a video game release was delayed, it is interesting to see that Harebrained Schemes involved Bandai Namco in the game a few weeks before it was supposed to be launched.

There could be a few explanations as to why this happened. One could be the fact that the game only needed a new pair of eyes and the launch was delayed because Bandai Namco discovered some really nasty bugs. The other, which is more plausible, is that the game was nowhere near being ready to be launched, so they called in an extra pair of hands and announced the modified release date.

There is this constant problem in the gaming world. Either a company launches a game on its due date and then has to release additional patches because the finite product was actually far from being finite. And that makes players extremely angry, see the first month of Fallout 4 for that.

Or they delay the launch, making gamers feel anxious and impatient, rather than “I want to throw my gaming platform into the publisher’s head” feeling they get when they find a glitch at every corner.

Necropolis – “A Diabolical Dungeon Delve” will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac this summer. Bandai Namco will be deal with the duties involving console publishing while Harebrained Schemes announced that it will self-publish the video game on Steam.

Mitch Gitelman, the president of Harebrained Schemes declared in a press release that they are not happy with slipping the release date, but they want to offer to the players the best experience that they can. He added that a console release involves an additional amount of significant development work.

He ended his declaration by saying that the additional months will only make Necropolis – “A Diabolical Dungeon Delve” better for both consoles and PC.

Necropolis – “A Diabolical Dungeon Delve” is an action video game in which players must travel into a sort of dungeon town inhabited by ghosts of giant beasts. The dungeons and the opponents change constantly making it quite difficult for the player to hold on to its only life.

You can check out the teaser in the video below.

Brazil Rating Hints at a BioShock Remaster

February 21, 2016 By John Birks Leave a Comment

"Screenshot of Elizabeth from BioShock"

BioShock was declared one of the best games in all time. and all of the three installments are epic.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – The internet is roaring as a Brazil rating hints at a BioShock remaster. The BioShock trilogy collection was rated in Brazil for PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360 and PC. Fans of the one of the greatest games in the history of gaming are hopeful that the Brazil rating hints at a BioShock remaster.

There have been several rumors in the past that hinted at a complete remaster of the BioShock trilogy for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but this time, the fans are convinced that the Brazil rating is the sign they were waiting for.

For the moment, there is no official confirmation of the remaster, but it wouldn’t be the first time when 2K Games releases a complete remaster of a series. Just last year, “The Handsome Collection” from Borderlands was re-released for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If you have been living in a cave until now and you haven’t tried to play at least one of the BioShock installments, then here are the main things you have to know about the George Orwell, Ayn Rand inspired first-person shooter, role-playing, horror survivor game.

You are the survivor of a plane crash that ends up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. After you manage to get out of the plane you spot a small island with a lighthouse on it. You swim towards the island, go to the lighthouse and find a sort of elevator. This is not your garden-variety elevator, but a transportation unit to a secret underwater city called Rapture.

Rapture is The City to live in. It’s the place where mad scientists go to perform experiments that are not legal, or moral on the surface. It’s also the place where people go in order to escape the dullness of everyday life on Earth.

Rapture is built by, surprise, a mad scientist. He is also the creator of the Little Sisters, a sort of genetic experiment that doubles as the city’s guards and plasmids collectors.

The most interesting part of the game, apart from everything else, is the fact that the ending depends on the interaction that your character has with the Little Sisters. If all of the girls are protected by the player, then the ending is happy, the lived until old age, died in his bed kind. If the player wasn’t that nice to them, then Tenenbaum, the narrator starts ranting about stolen secrets, nuclear war and other misfortunes that the player must discover on his or her own.

The Brazil rating hints at a BioShock remaster and it is one of the best news in the world of gaming since Fallout 4 was announced.

You Can Now Play “Red Dead Redemption” on Your Xbox One

February 7, 2016 By Matthew Slotkin Leave a Comment

"Red Dead Redemption poster with main game characters"

“Read Dead Redemption” is a open world action adventure with RPG elements.

(Mirror Daily, United States) – It seems like Microsoft is really working on its backwards compatibility. They did announce that they will make games available as they are finished, so now, even though it doesn’t appear on your feed just yet, you can now play “Red Dead Redemption” on your Xbox One.

The thing is the game cannot be found in the search, but a NeoGAF user pointed out on the NeoGAF site’s forum, you can search for the Gamertag “rockohhoward”, follow their profile, view it and search for the game’s download link.

If you do that, and if you already purchased the Xbox 360 edition of the “Red Dead Redemption” game then you will be all set to start shooting some cowboys. But if you don’t own an online copy of the game, you can go to the store on Xbox.com and buy it for only $30.

Apparently physical copies are not yet supported by the Xbox One backwards compatibility. Since this is not actually an official release of the game on the Xbox One platform, there is no way of telling how much longer it will take for them to upgrade the backwards compatibility so it can allow physical copies of the game, thus not making gamers buy it twice.

There are other games that were originally released for Xbox 360 that are now compatible with the Xbox One. Among them, there is the second part of Left for Dead, the second part of Tekken Tag and Symphony of the Night from Castlevania.

Microsoft deliberately decided not to make such a big fuss when launching a game that was modified through backwards compatibility. According to the declarations that the company made last month, they will release each game as soon as it passes the quality control of the publisher and engineering team.

This was decided so that people wouldn’t wait for fixed release dates, but rather be able to play the game as soon as possible. It’s also a good way of removing the due date pressure that always allowed a bug or two to slip into the final version of the game.

“Red Dead Redemption” is the third most wanted game on the Xbox One gaming platform. The only two that are more requested by the fans are Skyrim, the fifth instalment of the Elder Scrolls game and the second part of Black Ops from the Call of Duty franchise.

The backwards compatibility feature modified more than 130 games for Xbox One. A full list can be checked out here.
